A shortie today, to let you know that season two of The London Theatre Review podcast has now launched.
In the first episode, I and the Nicks (Clark and Curtis) have reviewed Titaníque at the Criterion (which is a very broad and heavily interrupted retelling of the story of the film Titanic from the point of view of Celine Dion, who claims to have been there on the boat. Unsurprisingly, it is a headlong dash into lunacy), and the new, Matthew Bourne-directed production of Oliver! at the Gielgud.
Plus, Nick Curtis talks to West End star and X Factor survivor Lucie Jones, who just seems like the most delightful person, as she returns to Les Mis at the Sondheim Theatre as Fantine.
We’re so happy to be back. Have a listen, it’s a really fun one. You can find it here, or wherever you get your podcasts, and if you enjoy it do subscribe and leave a review, it helps us enormously to build our audience and you’ll never miss an episode.
Just FYI, I’ve taken over for a bit at The Times as chief art critic, while the brilliant Laura Freeman is on maternity leave (congrats to her). It means that I’m travelling around a bit more, so these free Monday posts might become slightly less frequent, but I’ll do my best to keep them up. The massive Thursday bulletins will remain the same of course, and thank you to all of you who subscribe to read them in full, I really appreciate it.
